Bougainvillea spectabilis 'Aurantiaca' - Yellow Bougainvillea
The yellow flowering Bougainvillea 'Aurantiaca' shows a strong orange yellow in bloom, then an egg-yolk yellow and a light yellow in fading, ending in the parchment-like dry seed heads – until the next round, which will follow shortly.
Yellow bougainvilleas are less vigorous than other color groups, but offer a particularly bright flower color. The color during the flowering phase ranges between dark, slightly orange yellow at the beginning and light yellow at the end. The leaves are not flat, but naturally appear somewhat curled. As this variety is slow-growing, it needs a good watering only in the summer months. In the transitional seasons and in winter, water sparingly and never allow the roots to become waterlogged.
Quality: Mediterranean classic with clusters of showy flowers; almost permanently blooming; can be grown as a climber or pruned as a shrub or standard
Use: from May outside on balcony & terrace; all year round in heated winter gardens
