Citrus limetta 'Pursha' - Sweet Lemon, Roman Lime
The lime 'Pursha' (Citrus limetta) sets standards thanks to its annual rich harvest and compact growth: trend variety!
It can be assumed that the parents of the lime variety 'Pursha' are the Citrus limetta and Citrus sinensis or alternatively Citrus myrtifolia. 'Pursha' is a popular ornamental citrus variety, because it is not only robust and undemanding, but also has a very compact growth habit and, like kumquat, with a rounded crown. Since the crown remains small even when old, the 'Pursha' lime variety is very suitable for permanently growing in containers. The elongated leaves can be recognized by their distinct tip. The flowers are medium-sized (2-2.5 cm), white and intensely fragrant. The main bloom usually occurs in spring, but repeat blooms are possible throughout the summer and into the winter. 'Pursha' fruits are flat-round shaped like tangerines and are very numerous each year (no alternation). Due to the long flowering period, fruits of different stages of ripeness adorn the plants. The fruits can be easily peeled and their juice is pleasantly sour.
