Bougainvillea spectabilis - Double Orange Bougainvillea
Double orange bougainvilleas look particularly dense and lush, although the individual bracts are smaller than those of the single varieties.
An equally beautiful and rarely available group of Bougainvillea are the double-flowered varieties. Their colored bracts are much smaller than those of single-flowered relatives. However, they stand together in dense "clusters" that delight fans of container gardens and conservatories. The plants are slow growing and remain small with growths of about 20-30 cm per year. Water with care in winter and in the transitional seasons so as not to wet the roots, as the water requirement is low.
Quality: colorful perennials, vigorous climbers or pruned as shrubs/standards
Use: from May outside on balcony & terrace; all year round in heated winter gardens
