Who says white oleander is boring? On the contrary, it is important to provide visual balance in oleander collections and to separate the often very colorful, competing oleanders (Nerium oleander) from each other, improving the effect of them all.

Tips for oleanders in general:
Oleanders are extremely thirsty and hungry plants, but they repay good care with an abundant flowering that lasts from May to August/September. Plants that spend the winter in a bright conservatory often show their first flowers already in March/April. Fertilize your oleander with a liquid fertilizer once or twice a week from March to September and always leave some tap or rain water in the saucer when watering. Oleander will tolerate a moderate amount of lime. If oleander repeatedly dries out, it will lose a lot of leaves and is then easily attacked by spider mites/red spider, which make its leaves dotted with white. On the other hand, a constant but sporadic drop of yellow leaves is normal: this is how oleanders exchange their evergreen foliage for new leaves. Healthy, strong oleanders bloom very well even in bad summers, provided they have a full sun position all day long. Shade noticeably reduces the flowering. A cool, bright place below 10°C is important in winter; otherwise the risk of insect pests like scale insects will increase. Light permanent frost is not a problem. In winter, make sure the plant is in a well-vented position and water only directly onto the soil. Repot oleander annually in March/April into a larger container or cut out two to three wedges from the roots, replacing them with fresh, high-quality container plant soil. When you trim your oleander, do not cut all the shoot tips at once, as this is where the new flower buds that were already established the previous year are located. To keep oleander compact and blooming, remove one to three of the oldest shoots by cutting them just above the ground.
