The orange Bougainvillea variety 'Scarlett O'Hara' starts its blooming spectacle with a strong orange that turns into a strong pink to light baby pink as it fades.
Orange bougainvilleas like the variety 'Scarlett O'Hara' offer you several flower colors instead of just one. The barely opened flowers show a yellowish orange that darkens with each day and becomes a vibrant orange to orange-red when in full bloom. After that the flowers fade to pinks of various shades. Despite all this spectacle, orange bougainvilleas belong to the robust and vigorous representatives of their climbing species. Care tip: If you don't want to let the upright shoots that cling to their climbing aids grow unhindered in length, you can keep them low and bushy by consistently pruning them after each flush of flowers, and additionally in March.
