Osmanthus fragrans - Sweet Olive, Tea Olive, Fragrant Olive
BESTSELLER (rank 3) - The fragrance of the white or orange flowers of the evergreen shrubs (Osmanthus fragrans), which are produced in spring and fall, and sometimes again in summer, is one of the absolute favorites of our customers and us. The flower fragrance is compared to peach blossoms, although in our opinion it is unique. Frost hardy and suitable for the garden.
The Sweet Olive (Osmanthus fragrans) lives up to its name with its extremely fragrant flowers. A single specimen of these evergreen shrubs is enough to bathe an entire outdoor seating area, and even more so an entire winter garden, in clouds of a lovely peach blossom fragrance. The flowers, which are produced in spring and fall, and sometimes again in summer, are small, white and numerous. Since the naturally densely growing and fragrant flowering shrubs are also very cold-tolerant, they can be brought outside early in the year and stay there until the beginning of winter. Alternatively, plant them in the garden, where they prefer a partially sunny spot in nutrient- and humus-rich, slightly loamy soil.
