Citrus paradisi 'Star Ruby' - Red Grapefruit, Red Pomelo
The grapefruit variety 'Star Ruby' colors the flesh of its large fruits an intense red and the skin pink – a delight for the eye and the palate.
The variety ‘Star Ruby’ with its red fruit pulp grows well branched and robust. Due to the weight of the fruits, the branch ends often hang over. There is little to no fluff on the leaves and twigs (grapefruit influence). The flowers are large (4-5 cm) and stand together in larger groups, usually at the branch ends. They have an intensive fragrance that can be perceived from a distance. The fruits are round, the peel is yellow or sometimes slightly orange in color. The difference to other grapefruits is the reddish colored pulp, which is very aromatic and rich in juice.
Quality: intensely fragrant & large flowers; edible & decorative & large fruits with red pulp; evergreen & glossy & fragrant leaves
Use: in pots from May/June outside on balcony, terrace and in the garden - during winter in a winter quarter or conservatory; all year round in a heated conservatory or bright room
Note: All Flora Toskana citrus varieties are GRAFTED. Advantages: Flowering and fruiting from the smallest size (harvest in the first year). Robust roots that forgive care mistakes and ensure longevity. Varietal identity with the highest fruit quality and quantity.
